Vintage Dress Shop picture

A few weeks ago I showed you a free motion embroidered picture I was working on, of a vintage dress shop.

Here it is in progress:

And here it is finished:

Close ups of each of the three sections:

I'm doing my first craft fair in 3 weeks time, so I've been getting together the items I've finished and trying to put together a display.   This is how it looks set out on my dining room table, but I need to have something at the back I can prop some larger frames up against and also get a nice cloth to cover the table with.

Has anyone ever sold at a craft fair?  If so, do you have any tips for me?

  1. Ooh, this turned out great! It's so fun to look at all the little details. Your display is looking good, too -- I especially love the high heels. :)

  4. Oh wow Sam, they're all amazing, I'd hate to be at the craft fair you're selling at as I'd not be able to choose....and would end up staying a long time and part with loads of cash!! I adore them. Good luck at your craft fair, let uskiw ow it goes?

    1. Thank you Winnie. I'll certainly let you know how it goes! In the meantime I'll see if I can find Handmade Jane's craft fair post.

  5. Gorgeous! You could try propping some of the smaller pictures up in a basket. Maybe some of the smaller items too. I do this with my small notebooks and always sell more than if they are just on the table. Don't know why! I use a fabric lined one. Cox and Cox do some beautiful French striped cloths and I also use a dyed embroidered vintage one. Good luck!

    1. Thanks for your tips. I was planning on using a vintage style cook book stand for the larger unframed pictures, so people could "flip" through them. Baskets are a good idea for the smaller items, I'll look out for a couple.
